Declare his glory among the nations,

his marvelous works among all the peoples!

Missional Church

What does it mean to be a “Missional Church”? It refers to churches that purposely reach out and minister to those who are not a part of their assembly! Greenwood Park has a rich history of ministry in foreign missions, benevolence, campus ministry, and more recently, working with refugees in our community!

The international missions work began in the 1970s with work in Indonesia and Canada and over the years has supported missionaries in India, Honduras, Nicaragua, China, and Colombia. Members have taken mission trips to Honduras, Nicaragua, Costa Rica, Mexico, Belize, and several sites in the United States. Currently, we are supporting the following missionaries: Jonas and Brenda Chavez in Managua, Nicaragua; Hugo and Valeska Rivera in Managua, Nicaragua; Gary Hall in Cartagena, Colombia; and, Manuel and Nancy Gonzalez, Ft. Worth, Texas.

How do missions fit our
churchwide mission statement?

We elevate God when we preach the gospel everywhere.

Matthew 28: 18-20, “18 Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. 19 Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age."

Many of our members have been on mission trips with this congregation to Mexico, Guatemala, Honduras, Belize, Nicaragua, and Costa Rica over the last three decades, and this time together have built life-long connections among those who shared these experiences.

We never realize how great a country we live in and how rich we are until we see those in other places who are sick, broken, and in need of the hope. we have in Christ.
